Kecia Rowland has extensive experience in education and scientific roles. Currently serving as a Science Teacher at East China School District since November 2019, Kecia previously taught AP Physics, Physics, and Environmental Science at Cardinal Mooney Catholic Prep from 2015 to August 2018. Kecia’s earlier career includes positions at Applied Biosystems from 1998 to 2007 as Senior Field Applications Specialist, providing sales support for genetic analysis platforms, and as Research Coordinator III at Baylor College of Medicine from 1995 to 1998, managing the automated sequencing core facility for the Human Genome Project. Kecia holds a Bachelor of Education from The University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University.
