Rick Otte has extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering, particularly in system protection and control. Since October 2004, Rick Otte has held various leadership positions at East Kentucky Power Cooperative, including Director of Protection & Control and Manager of Protection & Control, providing crucial engineering support for member systems and overseeing the compilation of protective relay settings for new substations. Prior to this, Rick Otte worked at Kentucky Utilities / LG&E Energy from July 1999 to October 2004 as a Substation and Controls Engineer, where responsibilities included substation design and project management for high-voltage substations ranging from 69kV to 345kV.
