Dr Jim Foley

Dr. Jim Foley is an accomplished academic and law enforcement professional with extensive experience in policing and criminal investigations. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Policing at East Sussex College Group and Co-Editor for The Police Journal, Dr. Foley's career with the Metropolitan Police spanned three decades, culminating in the role of Detective Superintendent leading the Specialist Crime Review Group. Throughout this tenure, Dr. Foley held various leadership positions, including overseeing complex investigations and driving improvements in safeguarding and public protection across southeast London. An academic background includes a PhD and BSc in Policing from Canterbury Christ Church University, as well as a BS in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Kingston University.
