Maureen McCarthy is an experienced Environmental Services Planner II at the East-West Gateway Council of Governments since March 2018. Prior to this role, Maureen gained valuable experience as an intern for the Division of Public Water Supplies at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency from August 2015 to May 2017 and as an Operations and Management Intern at Great Rivers Greenway District in the summer of 2015. Maureen's background also includes serving as a Peer Advisor at the Office of International Studies and Programs at the University of Missouri - St. Louis from June 2014 to May 2015 and as a Senior Resident Advisor at the University of Missouri - St. Louis from July 2012 to May 2013. Maureen holds a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Philosophy from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, with additional studies at the University of Galway during the 2013-2014 academic year.
