George Vashakidze, Dr. iuris, LL.M, MES has a diverse range of experience in the legal field. George began their career as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, conducting research on the law of remedies for non-performance of contractual obligations. This research formed the basis of a book they published in Georgia in 2010.
Following this, George worked as a Legal Counsel at the Georgian National Investment Agency, where they were involved in drafting contracts, attending court hearings, and providing legal advice on investment legislation reform in Georgia.
George then went on to hold various teaching positions, including as a Lecturer at Caucasus University where they taught courses on comparative contract law and international business law. George also lectured on German law of obligations at Tbilisi State University as part of a joint LL.M program with the University of Cologne.
George later joined the University of Georgia as a Lecturer, teaching a practical course on the law of obligations. George then joined Ilia State University as an Associate Professor of Law, focusing on private international law, CISG, contract law, and comparative law.
In addition to their teaching positions, George worked as a Legal Education and Training Specialist at East West Management Inc., where they coordinated training programs for law professors, law students, and legal professionals. George was also Secretary of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
Most recently, George held the position of Director for Legal Education at the East-West Management Institute, where they worked on a USAID-funded program to promote the rule of law in Georgia. This program aimed to strengthen the justice system and protect human rights through rule of law and justice sector reforms.

George Vashakidze earned a Ph.D. in Private International Law and International Business Law from the University of Hamburg between the years 2008 and 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Master of European Studies (MES) at Europa-Kolleg Hamburg from 2007 to 2008. In 2006 to 2007, they obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Hamburg, specializing in Private International Law, International Business Law, and Competition Law.
