Eugene J. Hutchins

Eugene Hutchins is a seasoned arts administrator with extensive experience in managing both performing arts organizations and educational programs. Currently serving as Managing Director at East West Players since October 2023, Hutchins previously held leadership roles as Executive Director at Altadena Arts and Managing Director at Theatre West, where notable financial accomplishments included managing a $550,000 budget and achieving multiple fiscal surpluses. Prior to these positions, Hutchins directed and choreographed theatrical productions, served as Institutional Giving Manager for the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and was involved in community engagement and fundraising at MUSE/IQUE. With a formal education including a Master of Music in Opera Stage Direction from Florida State University and a Certificate in Arts Administration from New York University, Hutchins has shown a commitment to fostering creativity and financial sustainability within the arts sector.
