M.D. Abul Kalam Azad

Md. Abul Kalam Azad has a diverse work experience in information security and technology management. Md. Abul Kalam started their career as a Programmer at Grand Corporation Ltd, where they were responsible for network administration and system level support. Md. Abul Kalam then joined icddr,b as an IS Auditor, where they identified IT risks and planned annual Information System audits. After that, they worked as a System Analyst at the Ministry of Water Resources, managing the ministry's IT infrastructure and providing technical expertise for new software projects. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Information Security at Eastern Bank Ltd, overseeing the development and enforcement of ICT policies, managing projects like AML & PCI DSS implementations, and implementing various security measures. Throughout their career, Md. Abul Kalam Azad has demonstrated a strong knowledge of information security, risk assessment, and project management.

Md. Abul Kalam Azad, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC holds an M.Sc Engg degree in ICT from the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, which they obtained from 2006 to 2011. Md. Abul Kalam also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in ICT from the same university from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a B.Sc in Computer Science from Bangalore University from 1999 to 2002.

In addition to their educational background, Md. Abul Kalam Azad has obtained numerous certifications in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. These certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), among others.
