Senior Vice President Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager at Eastern Bank

Cathy Scherer has extensive experience in the banking industry, particularly in commercial real estate. Cathy started their career in 1983 at Citytrust, where they completed a credit training program and worked as a Vice President Commercial Real Estate Lender until 1990. During this time, they generated new business and handled loans ranging from $1MM to $15MM.

Cathy then joined First Niagara Bank in 1998 as an Underwriter/Credit Analyst, where they underwrote C&I and Commercial Real Estate loans and performed real estate evaluations on properties with loans under $250M.

In 2003, Cathy worked at The Michaud Company as a Provisional Commercial Real Estate Appraiser for a year before moving on to Guilford Savings Bank from 2004 to 2011. At Guilford Savings Bank, they served as the Vice-President Commercial Loan Manager and was responsible for managing the Commercial Lending Department. Cathy also generated new business relationships and structured, underwrote, and closed Commercial Real Estate and C&I loans.

From 2011 to 2013, Cathy worked at Webster Bank as a Vice President Portfolio Manager, where they monitored credit relationships, maintained the integrity of an assigned loan portfolio, performed annual reviews, and underwrote new loan transactions for companies with sales of $50MM to $500MM.

Prior to their current position, Cathy was employed at Belmont Savings Bank from 2013 to 2016 as a Vice President Commercial Real Estate Lender.

Since 2016, Cathy has been with Eastern Bank, initially as a Vice President Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager and currently as a Senior Vice President Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager. Their responsibilities include managing commercial real estate relationships and providing strategic guidance to clients.

Cathy Scherer holds a B.A. degree in Business from Albertus Magnus College. The duration of their education at this institution is unknown.
