Michelle Fleming

Deputy Director Operations, Community And Integrated Care at Eastern Health

Michelle Fleming has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Michelle began their career in 2005 as a Project Manager at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Project Officer at the Western & Central Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service. In 2009, they joined the Department of Planning and Community Development as a Community Engagement Officer and later became a Project Officer for Sport and Recreation Victoria from 2010 to 2011.

In 2011, Michelle joined Eastern Health, where they held various leadership positions. Michelle served as a Health Promotion Officer from 2011 to 2013 and then became the Health Promotion Coordinator for a brief period in 2013. From 2013 to 2019, they worked as the Manager of Community Health, overseeing multiple ambulatory services and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines and accreditation standards. Michelle also held the role of Associate Program Director, responsible for the operational and financial management of ambulatory services including Community Health, General Practice Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault, and Aboriginal Health services.

Recently, Michelle has also been involved in board positions. Michelle joined Alexandra District Health as a Board Director in 2020 and became a Board Member of Women's Health Goulburn North East in 2021. Throughout their career, Michelle has demonstrated their expertise in operational and financial management, as well as their commitment to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and achieving performance targets.

Michelle Fleming has a Master of Health and Human Services Management from Deakin University, which they completed in 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Graduate Diploma of Health Promotion from Deakin University in 2004. Michelle also holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, both obtained from Monash University from 2000 to 2003. Currently, they are pursuing a Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, expected to be completed in 2023.
