John Voight

Chief Nursing Officer at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center

John Voight, MSN, RN, NEA-BC serves as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). In this role, Voight oversees clinical nursing operations throughout the hospital, ensures quality patient care, and leads efforts to increase patient satisfaction. Voight has 20 years of healthcare leadership experience at various hospitals across the nation. Most recently, he served as CNO at Oviedo Medical Center (HCA Healthcare) in Oviedo, Florida. In this role, on top of his nursing leadership responsibilities, he also had a good portion of the responsibilities traditionally held by an operations officer.

He also previously served as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, as well Vice President of Emergency Services with the Ocala Health System (HCA Healthcare), where Voight oversaw the strategic operations of emergency departments on two campuses and two freestanding ERs.

Voight holds a Master of Science in Nursing and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University. He is also a US Army veteran and was a police officer prior to pursuing a nursing career.

Voight is board certified as a Nurse Executive-Advanced by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is affiliated with several professional organizations: American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Nurses Association, and the Emergency Nurses Association.

On a personal note, Voight has six daughters, one son, and three grandchildren. He enjoys working on DIY projects, sometimes on purpose and sometimes out of necessity.
