Tynisha D. Willingham

Tynisha D. Willingham, Ph.D. is a seasoned academic leader currently serving as Provost at Eastern Mennonite University since July 2023. Previously, Tynisha held the role of Interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer, as well as Dean of the College of Education at Mary Baldwin University from July 2020 to July 2023. Tynisha's experience also includes serving as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Chair of Teacher Education at St. Norbert College, alongside roles as Associate Professor of Education. Early career experiences encompass positions as an Elementary School Teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools and a Corps Member with Teach For America. Tynisha's educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Language and Literacy Education from Penn State University, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from The University of Texas-Pan American, and a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and African American Studies from Penn State University.
