Peter Oittinen

Peter Oittinen is an experienced professional in naval architecture and marine engineering, currently serving as the Director of Engineering Government Bid and Proposal at Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. since January 2022. Previously, Peter held various significant roles at the U.S. Coast Guard, including Program Manager, where Peter supervised a multi-billion dollar acquisition program, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and performance targets. Additional positions at the U.S. Coast Guard encompassed Commanding Officer, Industrial Manager, Executive Officer, and Department Head in the systems acquisition field office. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the US Coast Guard Academy and a Master of Science in Engineering in the same field from the University of Michigan.
