Shannen Betts

Shannen Betts is a dedicated professional in the sports and leisure sector, currently serving as a Sport and Leisure Officer specializing in Health and Wellbeing at Eastleigh Borough Council since March 2022. With prior experience as a Sports Development Officer at Surrey Sports Park from March 2019 to March 2022, Shannen managed community engagement, focusing on the Learn to Swim Programme and sport outreach initiatives. As a Swimming Development Officer, Shannen successfully handled the Learn to Swim programme and initiated events such as Drowning Prevention Week. Shannen's career began with Places Leisure as a Contract Swim Development Manager, overseeing a swimming programme that served over 1600 individuals and driving participation growth. Shannen's experience also includes working as a Swimming Teacher and Recreation Assistant at GLL while pursuing education, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Studies with PE from the University of Brighton.
