Jeff Smith

Principal Chemical Engineer at Eastman

From 1985 to 2016, Jeff Smith worked at Eastman Chemical Company, starting as a Research Chemical Engineer and progressing to become a Technical Associate and later a Laboratory Supervisor. Jeff then served as a Senior Chemical Engineer and worked in Process Engineering. In 2010, they became a Principal Chemical Engineer and held that role until 2016. In 2018, they returned to Eastman Chemical Company as a Chemical Engineering Specialist and later became a Principal Chemical Engineer again in 2020. In 2009, Jeff also took on the role of Chair of DIPPR Project 801 Database Project at DIPPR. Starting in 2016, they became an Emeritus Member at DIPPR and in 2022, they joined the company as a Member of the DIPPR Managing Board. In 2023, they became the Chair of the Board.

From 1980 to 1984, Jeff Smith studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
