Scott qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. He went on to spend ten years in senior financial and change management roles with Diageo plc. He then joined Macdonald Hotels PLC as group finance director and then chief operating officer. Since then, Scott has held a number of roles in private equity-backed technology and healthcare businesses.

Scott was appointed as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company in June 2014 and chairs both the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He is also a member of the Nominations Committee.
