Jinjie Shi

Jinjie Shi, PhD, currently serves as Chief Engineer at Eaton, focusing on additive manufacturing applications, material and process development, and industrialization since October 2022. Prior to this role, Jinjie worked at GE Aviation-Additive from August 2017 to October 2022 as a Staff Engineer and Technical Leader, where responsibilities included additive manufacturing for GE engine components, consulting for non-GE customers, and leading cross-functional teams in developing advanced metal printing techniques. Earlier experience includes serving as Lead Engineer and Project Leader at GE Global Research Center from September 2013 to August 2017, focusing on environmental barrier coatings for turbines, and as a Senior R&D Engineer at Dow Chemical from February 2010 to August 2013, leading process development for solar shingles. Jinjie's career began as a Business Development Assistant Manager at STMicroelectronics in 2005. Educational credentials include a PhD in Engineering Science & Mechanics from Penn State University and a BS in Microelectronics from Peking University.
