Dr. Sabine Hampel

Dr. Sabine Hampel is an accomplished professional in sustainable investment management, currently serving as the Head of Equities at EB – Sustainable Investment Management since January 2022. This role involves developing innovative investment strategies such as ESG integration and impact investing while also managing interdisciplinary projects and fostering resilient teams. Prior to this, Dr. Hampel was a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing the EB-Öko-Equities Fund with a focus on ecological and economic returns through active ownership and investment in ESG champions. Previous experience includes serving as a Portfolio Manager for sustainable global equity funds at ACATIS Investment KVG mbH and an academic role as a research assistant at Helmut-Schmidt-University. Dr. Hampel has a robust educational background, holding a doctorate in economics and being a certified ESG analyst. Additionally, experience as a military leader, serving as a Marine officer within the Bundeswehr, has contributed to effective leadership and management skills.
