Akash Sonowal

Akash Sonowal is an experienced applied researcher currently working at eBay within the Shipping Science Team since December 2025. Prior to this role, Akash served as a Data Scientist II at NoBroker.com, where a production-grade voice bot stack was developed to handle over 300,000 daily calls with multilingual interactions. As an ML Engineer III at HERE Technologies, Akash created SLIM, an internal AI assistant platform, which included a RAG-based conversational platform and improved operational efficiency for the Technical Support team. Earlier, as a Data Scientist I at Mphasis, Akash drove innovation by architecting a patent-pending hybrid Autoencoder-GAN framework and delivering multiple ML applications that significantly contributed to revenue growth in the AWS SageMaker Marketplace. Akash holds a Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
