João Duarte

João Duarte is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in venture capital and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as Senior Manager at eBay Ventures since August 2022, João oversees investments in startups innovating in the eCommerce space. Prior to this role, João held the position of Investment Manager at Verve Ventures, leading European Series A/B investments, and was instrumental in achieving a high follow-on funding rate for portfolio companies. João has also contributed as an Expert at EUSPA, a Venture Partner at Lighthouse Ventures, and co-founded Techloop, a successful tech recruitment marketplace. João holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital from the University of New York in Prague, a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of West Bohemia, and a Licentiate degree in Informatics from the University of Lisbon.
