Esther Yoo

Esther Yoo is a predoctoral fellow at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI, currently working in the Birney Group since October 2023. Previous experience includes a role as a research student in the Hoffman Lab at the University Health Network from May 2022 to September 2023, and a data and analytics internship at Procter & Gamble between May 2021 and April 2022. Esther also held leadership positions during involvement with Global Engineering Week from May 2019 to December 2021, including Managing Director and Campus Lead for Course Partnerships. Additional research positions at the University Health Network, a role as a Baycrest Youth Council Committee Member, and experience as a research assistant at Baycrest Health Sciences contribute to a strong background in bioinformatics and research. Academic achievements include pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics at the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. Educated at William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, Esther completed high school with a focus on MaCS.
