Ibrahim Roshan Kunnakkattu

Ibrahim Roshan Kunnakkattu is a bioinformatician currently working at the European Bioinformatics Institute since September 2022, with previous experience as a researcher at Tata Consultancy Services from August 2017 to October 2022. At Tata Consultancy Services, Ibrahim designed and developed an end-to-end automated pipeline for taxonomical diversity analysis of microbiome samples, created a multi-label classification model to predict drug side effects, and devised an algorithm for repositioning approved drugs based on side effect similarity. Earlier, as a summer research intern at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in 2015, Ibrahim developed a metagenomic analysis pipeline for 16s rRNA Illumina reads. Ibrahim holds a Master of Technology in Biological Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, obtained between 2012 and 2017.
