Sergio Matute has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Sergio began their career at DuPont as a Research & Development Engineer and Resin Chemist. Sergio then worked at IQ Plastics S.A. de C.V. as an Operations Manager and Polymer Scientist & Projects Manager. Following that, they joined Faurecia as a Production Manager, where they coordinated production programs with various automotive companies and led continuous improvement initiatives. Matute then moved to Eastman Chemical Company, where they held multiple roles including Plant Manager, Site Manager, and Director of EOD (Manufacturing) Excellence. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Operations at ebm-papst Inc., overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, engineering, and construction.

Sergio Matute's education history is as follows:

From 1992 to 1999, Sergio attended Centro Escolar Cedros, where they completed their primary and secondary education. During this time, they did not obtain any academic degrees.

From 1999 to 2002, Sergio enrolled in Centro Universitario Mexico, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics. Sergio successfully completed this program and obtained a Bachelor in Sciences degree.

From 2002 to 2007, Sergio attended the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering. Sergio successfully completed this program as well.

In 2006 and 2007, Sergio also attended the same university, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, for a Major in Polymers, a branch of Chemical Engineering. Sergio completed their studies in this field during these years.

In terms of additional certifications, Sergio obtained a Six Sigma certification from DuPont in March 2009. In November 2021, they obtained a Master Coach Certification from Bluepoint Leadership Development. More recently, in 2022, Sergio obtained several certifications from McKinsey & Company, including A2E Business Fundamentals, Management Accelerator part of Hispanic & Latino Leadership Academy, Business Strategy, and Problem Solving.
