Kelly Zito is an experienced communications professional with a focus on public affairs and environmental policy. Currently serving as the Public Affairs Director at EBMUD since March 2019, Zito previously held the position of Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Region 9 from August 2011 to March 2019, where responsibilities included media relations and internal communications. Zito's journalism background includes roles as an environment and water policy staff writer at the San Francisco Chronicle and as a business reporter at the Marin Independent Journal and The Ithaca Journal. Furthermore, Zito participated as a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan, where studies concentrated on environmental politics. Zito earned a degree from Cornell University and furthered education at the University of Michigan.
