Abdul Salam

Abdul Salam has a comprehensive work experience in the technology industry. Abdul started their career as a Design Engineer at And or Logic, where they worked on the development of real-time stream encryption systems involving FPGAs, System on Board solutions, ARM, PIC micro-controllers, and smart cards.

Abdul then moved on to work as a Senior Software Design Engineer at Mentor Graphics, specializing in USB driver development for Nucleus RTOS and designing generic USB driver templates.

Following that, Abdul joined Palmchip as a Team Lead, where they focused on R&D, malware detection testing of IPS systems, network security, behavior-based malware analysis, and developing data analysis tools for analyzing malware behaviors.

Abdul's next role was as a Lead Malware Researcher at Ebryx (Pvt.) Ltd., where they conducted behavior-based analysis of malware, analyzed executable and object type malwares, and researched web drive-by downloads.

Abdul then became a Technical Manager at Ebryx, leading a team of malware researchers in identifying new malwares and improving existing detection appliances. Abdul also designed and implemented solutions to enhance the company's malware detection products.

Abdul's next position at Ebryx was as a Director of Engineering, working with teams on various projects such as behavior-based detection of malwares, detection of drive-by downloads, testing of IPS/IDS systems, and test automation framework development.

Abdul later became a Senior Director of Engineering at Ebryx, furthering their experience in leading and managing engineering teams.

Currently, Abdul holds the role of VP of Engineering at Ebryx, where they aim to excel in managing and team building. Abdul leads multiple teams in malware research, security tools development, security product testing, and quality assurance. Abdul has a strong focus on continuously improving quality and achieving outstanding results with their teams.

Abdul Salam completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, from 1999 to 2002. Before that, they attended Fauji Foundation College New Lalazar Rawalpindi, where they pursued a degree in Pre-Engineering, although the exact start and end years are unknown.

In addition to their formal education, Abdul Salam has obtained several certifications. These include "Building High-Performance Teams," "Strategic Thinking," "Advanced SQL for Application Development," "Building Dynamic Websites using AWS Lambdas," "Data Science Foundations: Choosing the Right Database," "Database Foundations: Intro to Databases," "Effective Listening," "Improving Your Listening Skills," "Learning Amazon Web Services Lambda," "Advanced SQL for Query Tuning and Performance Optimization," "SQL Essential Training," "Negotiation Skills," "Applied Machine Learning in Python," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," "Leading Teams," "Machine Learning Specialization," "Machine Learning: Classification," "Machine Learning: Clustering & Retrieval," and " Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach." These certifications were obtained from various institutions, including LinkedIn and Coursera, between 2017 and 2021.
