Brian Concannon

Brian Concannon has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Brian is currently the Founder and CEO of EchoTrail, a position they have held since April 2018. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2020, Brian worked at Expel as a Manager of Detection Tools Engineering and later as a Principal Detection and Response Engineer. At Expel, they focused on building and maintaining detection capabilities for various customer environments and technologies.

Before joining Expel, Brian was the Co-Founder and technical lead for Vector8, a Colorado Security Start-up, from 2016 to 2018. Vector8 aimed to solve complex security problems by bringing together the right people and technology.

From 2013 to 2016, Brian worked at CrowdStrike, first as a Senior Intrusion Analyst, where they hunted for adversaries on customer endpoints and developed new detections and automated processes for hunting through a high volume of raw endpoint data. Later, they became a Senior Manager on the Analytics Insight Team, where they focused on developing insights and analytics from data collected during cyber investigations.

Brian also has a commendable career with the FBI, where they served as a Special Agent specializing in cybercrime, counterintelligence, and computer intrusion investigations. Brian was a member of the FBI Cyber Action Team (CAT) and held the position of InfraGard Coordinator for the State of Michigan.

Prior to their work in cybersecurity, Brian worked as a Sr. Software Engineer at Raytheon from 1999 to 2005. In this role, they developed real-time embedded software for military satellite communications systems and software algorithms for optimizing the installation of radar systems for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Brian Concannon attended Purdue University from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering. Additionally, in December 2011, they obtained the GIAC Assessing and Auditing Wireless Networks (GAWN) certification from GIAC.
