Tyler Okel

Director of Quality at ECM Therapeutics, Inc.

Tyler Okel has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Tyler is currently the Director of Quality at ECM Therapeutics, Inc., a regenerative medicine company. In this role, they develop and manufactures diagnostic and therapeutic products utilizing extracellular matrix (ECM).

Prior to their current role, Tyler worked at Noveome Biotherapeutics, Inc. starting as a Science Teacher at Hargrave Military Academy in 2008 and then transitioned to roles in the biotechnology field. Tyler served as a Research Assistant at Dr. John Thomas's Biofilms Lab at WVU from 2010 to 2010. Tyler then worked at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital as a Medical Technologist from 2011 to 2012.

In 2012, Tyler joined Noveome Biotherapeutics as a Biological Manufacturing Supervisor. Tyler worked their way up to Associate Director of Manufacturing Operations and eventually became the Director of GMP Manufacturing Operations. Noveome Biotherapeutics focuses on developing therapies for regenerative repair, specifically targeting the biology of paracrine signaling.

Tyler Okel completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Marietta College from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they pursued further education at West Virginia University from 2009 to 2011, earning another Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree, this time in Medical Technology.
