Jacob Fraire has an extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the education and philanthropy sectors. Jacob is currently serving as the Foundation President at ECMC Foundation since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Policy and Strategy at the Diana Natalicio Institute at The University of Texas at El Paso from July 2022 to February 2023.
Before joining The University of Texas at El Paso, Fraire held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at the Texas Association of Community Colleges from January 2016 to June 2022. Jacob also worked as the Vice President of Philanthropy at Trellis Company for nearly two decades from May 1998 to January 2016.
Fraire's earlier roles include being a Senior Legislative Coordinator at Jorden, Burt, Berenson, and Johnson from March 1997 to April 1998. Jacob also served as the Director of Legislation and Policy Analysis at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) from December 1995 to March 1997.

Jacob Fraire earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from St. Edward's University between 1983 and 1987. Jacob later pursued a Master of Public Affairs from The LBJ School of Public Affairs between 2006 and 2008.
