Laura Gemmell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and communications, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Eco Choice Aotearoa since February 2022. Laura is actively involved as a committee member with the ISO - International Organization for Standardization and Standards New Zealand, contributing to initiatives focused on environmental management and sustainability. Prior to their current roles, Laura held various leadership positions at World Vision from June 2015 to February 2022, including Director of Global Public Engagement and Regional Communications Director for Southern and Eastern Africa. Laura's earlier career includes roles in journalism at Radio New Zealand and The Jakarta Post, complemented by education from the University of Cambridge and the New Zealand Broadcasting School.

Eco Choice Aotearoa
Eco Choice Aotearoa has been the country's most rigorous ecolabel for more than 30 years. The not-for-profit offers consumers an unmatched level of assurance by considering: * The full environmental impact of products and services * Whether they pose any risk to human health * If the product or service is fit-for purpose Eco Choice Aotearoa operates without fear or favour. It does not take into account offsets, instead requiring businesses to make real changes to the way they operate. Those part of the voluntary initiative, are market leaders and early adopters. Eco Choice Aotearoa was initiated by the New Zealand Government in 1992.
