Jeanylyn Lopez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jeanylyn worked as a Software Engineer at ecobee starting from May 2022. Prior to that, they were an Interactive Media Developer at INVIVO - a Red Nucleus company, where they held the roles of Intermediate Interactive Media Developer from November 2021 to January 2022, and Junior Interactive Media Developer from November 2018 to November 2021. Jeanylyn also worked as a Digital Editor at The Canadian Press from May 2015 to July 2018, where they used NewsGate and Escenic to edit stories, create web packages, and layout articles online. Before that, they were an Editorial and Digital Intern at The Globe and Mail in April and May 2015. Jeanylyn also has experience as an Editorial Intern at The Hamilton Spectator in February 2015. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at The Sheridan Sun from January 2014 to January 2015, including Web & Social Media Director, News Editor, and Reporter. Jeanylyn oversaw the development of a new website, created page templates, assigned stories to reporters, and produced DSLR photographs.
Jeanylyn Lopez started their education at the University of Toronto in 2008 and completed their Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature, History, and Philosophy in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they attended Sheridan College, where they pursued journalism print but did not obtain a degree. In 2018, they enrolled in HackerYou College of Technology and completed a web development immersive certificate program, which is still ongoing.
