Sugun MacHipeddy

Sugun Machipeddy has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2016, they worked as a Research Intern at Università di Bologna, focusing on partial discharges inception in magnet wires for their Bachelor's Degree thesis. In 2016-2017, at Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions, they served as an Associate Software Engineer, building custom LINUX distributions and leading NXP i.MX6 series SOC's. In 2018, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia Electrical and Computer Engineering, implementing a custom Kubernetes scheduler and configuring a Kubernetes cluster with Kubeadm. From 2019-2021, at iVedha Inc., they served as a DevOps Engineer, managing the CI/CD for the multi-cloud orchestration platform AYTRA and deploying Apache CloudStack. From 2021-2023, at Loblaw Digital, they worked as a Site Reliability Engineer, managing the Container Platform on GCP, writing custom Kubernetes Operators, and implementing automatic certificate management. Currently, since 2023, Sugun is employed at ecobee as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer.

Sugun Machipeddy received their Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy. Sugun attended the university from 2012 to 2016. Sugun further pursued their education and earned a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia. Sugun completed their master's program at the university from 2017 to 2019.
