Luciana Vaccaro

Luciana Vaccaro serves as the Rectrice at HES-SO Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale since October 2013, where strategic academic management encompasses several domains including Design and Visual Arts, Economy and Services, Engineering and Architecture, Music and Performing Arts, Health, and Social Work, overseeing 28 higher education institutions across 7 cantons in Switzerland and 21,000 students. Luciana holds significant positions in various organizations, including member of the FNS Research Council and swissuniversities, as well as leadership roles in multiple foundations related to arts and education. Prior roles include Head of the Grant Office at EPFL, Director of Executive Master in Health Economics and Management at the University of Lausanne, Senior Lecturer at the University of Neuchâtel, and Research Assistant at EPFL. Luciana completed a PhD in Nanoptics and Microtechnology at EPFL and earned a Laurea in Physics from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
