Jamie Alonzo is a scientist turned educator and nonprofit leader with a passion for servant leadership and social justice. They served as Dean of the Natural and Applied Sciences Division at Cabrillo College from 2016 to 2019 and held interim positions such as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at West Valley College in 2019. With a foundational tenure at Yale University as Director of Education Special Projects from 2004 to 2011, Jamie has contributed significantly to various educational initiatives, including the California State Summer School for Math & Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Currently, Jamie is the Director of Operations at Ecology Action, where they continue to work towards the greater good. They hold a Master’s degree in Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Sciences from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Idaho.
