Karen Chen

Karen Chen is an accomplished professional with a robust background in urban and regional planning, economic development, and event management. Currently serving as an Associate at Economic & Planning Systems, Inc. since May 2023, Karen previously held the role of Economic Development Consultant at Jon Stover & Associates from February 2022 to May 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Assedo Consulting as a Planner I/Outreach Specialist, and at the U.S. Green Building Council, where responsibilities included Conference Education Planner and Event Program Associate. Early career efforts involved an internship in Development & Public Affairs at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and as a Program Coordinator Intern at Assemble, where local artists were recruited for gallery exhibitions. Karen holds a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, complemented by a Studio Arts Minor and a Digital Media Certificate.
