Julie Scarcella

Julie Scarcella is a visionary entrepreneur and sustainability specialist with over 20 years of experience in the built environment industry. As the founder of EcoSpex Inc., Julie has successfully initiated several green building initiatives and non-profit organizations focused on sustainability and low carbon technologies. Notable previous positions include Managing Director at Building Research Establishment (BRE) Canada, where operational and strategic planning were key responsibilities, and Founder of the Ontario Sustainable Construction and Resource Centre (OSCAR), dedicated to promoting green building products in Ontario. Julie's earlier roles include President of Blue Wilderness Group Inc. and Principal Consultant at JS Environmental Services. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Waterloo and certifications in Entrepreneurship Studies and Forestry and Parks. Currently, Julie serves as an Activator Member Volunteer for SheEO, supporting a global community focused on equitable and sustainable development.
