Disaster Risk Management/climate Change Specialist at ECOWAS Commission

Chioma Bella Aliku is a Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Specialist at the ECOWAS Commission, a position held since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Programme Facilitator at the MindAfrica Leadership Initiative from February 2016 to April 2018, and working as a Soil Scientist at Petronics Energy Company Limited between June 2012 and December 2013. Additionally, Chioma held the role of Assistant Administrative Officer at the Federal College of Education (Special) in Oyo, Nigeria, from July 2010 to July 2011. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Management and Control from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, earned between August 2017 and February 2022, a Master of Science in the same field from the same institution, completed from January 2014 to October 2015, and a Bachelor of Agriculture in Soil Sciences from the University of Benin, obtained from 2004 to 2009.
