John Markantonis

John Markantonis, DO, D(ABMM), currently serves as the Head of Clinical Microbiology at ECU Health since January 2023, where responsibilities include overseeing clinical microbiology and general pathology. Prior experience includes a Pathology Residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center from July 2018 to June 2022, complemented by a Medical Microbiology Fellowship. John Markantonis completed a traditional rotating internship at Peconic Bay Medical Center and Health System from June 2017 to June 2018. Earlier roles include a Research Assistant focused on Molecular Microbiology and a Laboratory Assistant in Clinical Microbiology at Tampa General Hospital from March 2010 to July 2013. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University Nevada, a Master's in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida, and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Microbiology from the same institution.
