Shana Attas has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Shana began their career as a Summer Intern at Council President Eric Garcetti in 2010. The following year, they worked as a Summer Law Clerk in the Land Use Division of the Office of the City Attorney. In 2012, they served as a Summer Law Clerk at Community Legal Services.
In 2013, Shana became a Legal Fellow at the Eastern Environmental Law Center/Ironbound Community Corporation. Shana then joined Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Fader, LLC in 2014 as an Associate Attorney.
From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an Agency Attorney at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Law Department- Real Estate and Economic Development. Shana Attas completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Urban Studies/Affairs and French from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2009. Shana then pursued a Masters of City and Regional Planning (M.C.R.P.) degree with a focus on Environmental Planning and Land Use from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, which they completed in 2013. Additionally, Shana Attas obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Rutgers Law School in 2013.
