Blaine Gaffney has a diverse work experience, starting in 2005 as a bartender in various hospitality businesses. In 2013, they worked as a citizen journalist for the European Movement Ireland before becoming a parliamentary assistant in the European Parliament, assisting Mairead McGuinness MEP. From 2014 to 2020, they worked as a parliamentary assistant for Tony McLoughlin TD in the Houses of the Oireachtas. In 2020, Blaine became a ministerial advisor for the Department of Health in Ireland, providing support and advice to the Minister for State. Currently, they are the Associate Vice President at Edelman Global Advisory, a role they started in June 2021. Additionally, Blaine has experience as a Managing Director for Lillies Cocktail Bar Sligo - Live Music Venue, which they have held since December 2017.
Blaine Gaffney's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) (Honours) degree in Heritage Studies from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, which was obtained from 2008 to 2012. In addition, Blaine pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Historía from Universidad de Zaragoza, which took place during the academic year of 2010 to 2011.
