John Regan

John Regan has over 30 years of experience in venture capital, private equity and strategic advisory roles. John began their career in 1989 as a Principal at Apex Venture Partners, a $70 million Venture Capital Firm specializing in early, mid and growth stage investments. In 1995, they became Managing Director at Keystone Ventures, a Venture Capital Firm focused on early, mid and growth stage venture capital, where they grew assets from $50 to $200 million. From 2003 to 2016, Regan was Managing Director at Illinois Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, and a founding partner of the Illinois Emerging Technology Funds. John was instrumental in building and managing the firm from start up to over $75 million and creating an award winning university venture group. In 2007, they took on the role of Acting VP Business Development at Eden Park Illumination, leading the way in flat panel UV innovation. In 2009, they became Acting CFO & Member Board of Directors at Novian Health, offering a minimally invasive alternative to lumpectomy with improved efficacy at lower cost. In 2015, they became Managing Director at Energy Foundry, a venture capital investor backing promising energy innovators. In 2016, Regan took on the role of Managing Partner at T2G Ventures, LLC, a hands-on Venture Capital advisory firm focused on building significant businesses based on unique technologies leveraging new and innovative business models. In 2018, they became Acting VP Finance at Carallel, LLC, a digital health start up, and Strategic Board Advisor at E-Therapy, a leader in providing speech, hearing and behavioral health services to students. In 2019, they became a Member Board Directors at Calico Energy, a group of data experts with deep experience in energy efficiency, load management, auditing and data/systems integration.

John Regan obtained a BS General Engineering degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1977 and 1981. John then completed a Master's Degree in General Engineering from the same institution between 1981 and 1983. Finally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance and Marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business between 1987 and 1989.
