Jose Abel Defina

Jose Abel DeFina is a seasoned finance and business development professional currently serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of The Growth Capital Gate since May 2021, where strategic growth initiatives and investment opportunities are prioritized. In addition to this role, Jose holds board member positions at Edesa and Fanaloza Chile and serves as a professor and head of the finance department at IDE Business School since January 2009. As a managing partner at CONSULDEI Desarrollo Economía e Ingeniería, Jose specializes in consulting in strategy and finance, focusing on project development in both private and public sectors. Previous experience includes serving on the board of directors at Banco D-MIRO and as a senior advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries. Jose's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Business Administration from IESE Business School, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a law degree from Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil.
