Process Project Engineer at Edesia

Kenneth McConnell has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Kenneth began their career in 1998 as a Process Engineer at Cellu Tissue Holdings, where they primarily focused on the installation and startup of a new tissue machine and quality system. Kenneth improved chemical handling techniques and maintained environmental discharges and permits.

In 2000, McConnell joined MeadWestvaco as a Senior Process Engineer and later managed the Instrument and Control Department. Kenneth designed and managed cost-saving projects and installed engineering projects for boiler upgrades and new product measurement systems.

From 2003 to 2005, McConnell worked as a Reliability Engineer at Arkema, where they implemented and maintained a stores inventory system and transitioned to a computer-based maintenance system. Kenneth also led troubleshooting and improvements on sheet coaters and extruders.

At United Abrasives from 2005 to 2006, McConnell served as a Process Engineer, responsible for daily raw material mixes, new mix formulations, and startup and troubleshooting of automated presses.

From 2006 to 2013, McConnell worked at Solutia as a Process Engineer and ALS Super. Kenneth executed trials and start-ups on extrusion lines, led a global team for product and process transition, and implemented quality and safety projects.

From 2013 to 2015, McConnell served as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Eastman Chemical Company, where they coordinated engineering projects, conducted equipment start-up, and played a key role in site safety training.

At Aspen Aerogels from 2015 to 2020, McConnell held the position of Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Kenneth led the implementation of new extraction systems, conducted continuous improvement projects, executed trials for new products, and led safety projects. Kenneth also facilitated troubleshooting teams and worked on optimizing daily operations.

From 2020 to 2022, McConnell was a Maintenance Supervisor at Teknor Apex Company, overseeing maintenance operations for the company.

Most recently, McConnell joined Saint-Gobain North America in 2022 as a Manufacturing Engineer II, focusing on process improvement and engineering projects.

In 2023, McConnell will begin working as a Process Project Engineer at Edesia Nutrition, where they will likely continue utilizing their engineering expertise.

Kenneth McConnell obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Additionally, they have achieved a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Teknor Apex Company in May 2022.
