Jason Lowenstein

Director, Wind Technology Optimization at EDF Renewables

Jason Lowenstein has extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. Jason started their career at Rain in Cumulus Over the Ocean Field Campaign (RICO) as a Research Scientist from December 2004 to January 2005. Afterwards, they joined EDF Renewables North America in 2008 and held various roles within the company. Jason built the GIS and Wind Resource Department from scratch during their tenure at OwnEnergy, which was acquired by EDFR in 2015. Jason developed a proprietary GIS screening process and managed wind resource efforts, including turbine layout optimizations and wind resource assessments. Currently, Jason is serving as the Director of Wind Technology Optimization at EDF Renewables North America.

Jason Lowenstein obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Mathematics from Skidmore College in 2003. Jason then participated in a Dual-Degree Physics/Engineering Program between Skidmore College and Dartmouth College from 2001 to 2002. Following that, Jason pursued a Master of Research degree in Physics of the Earth and Atmosphere at The University of Leeds in 2004-2005. Jason then continued their education at the University of Leeds and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Atmospheric Physics and Dynamics from 2005 to 2007.
