Matthew Kelcey

Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Edge Impulse

Matthew Kelcey has held a variety of roles since 2011. Matthew started as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services in 2011, then moved to Wavii as a Software Engineer in 2012. Matthew also served as an Advisor for Common Crawl in 2012. In 2013, they became a Senior Research Engineer at Google, where they worked on projects involving deep reinforcement learning for Robotics and deep neural networks for various Natural Language Processing tasks. In 2017, they became a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at ThoughtWorks. Matthew also served as a Mentor at HoistAi in 2019 and an Advisor at Hyperflow.tv and thingc in 2018. In 2019, they became a Google Developer Expert (Machine Learning) at Google Developers. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Edge Impulse.

Matthew Kelcey attended the University of Tasmania from 1994 to 1997, where they earned a BComp (Hons) degree in Artificial Intelligence.
