Thorsten Ziegler

Thorsten Ziegler has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering and data center industries. Thorsten currently holds the position of Vice President Engineering at EdgeConneX since March 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Data Center Engineering at EdgeConneX from July 2016 to February 2019.

Before joining EdgeConneX, Thorsten worked at 1&1 Internet for a significant period of time. Thorsten held various roles including Data Center Architect, Head of Data Center US, Team Leader Operations, and Network Engineer. During their time at 1&1 Internet, Thorsten was responsible for analyzing and improving the operation of data centers, negotiation and contract management, evaluation and selection of next-generation data center infrastructure technologies, as well as managing and hiring personnel.

In addition to their roles at EdgeConneX and 1&1 Internet, Thorsten completed an internship at x-cellent technologies in 2001 and worked as a Diplomand/Thesis student at GFT AG in 2002.

From 1998 to 2002, Thorsten Ziegler attended Hochschule Furtwangen, where they pursued a degree in Computer Networking and successfully completed their education, earning a Diplom Informatiker.
