Senior Director Of Teaching And Learning at Edgewood ISD

Teresa Silva, Ph.D. has had a diverse range of roles in the field of education. Teresa started their career in 1998 as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher/Instructional Facilitator and worked in this role until 2012. From 2012 to 2016, they served as an Elementary Assistant Principal, and then went on to become an Elementary School Principal from 2016 to 2022. Afterward, they transitioned to the position of Director of Teaching and Learning at Edgewood ISD from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Director of Teaching and Learning at the same institution. In 2019, they also had a brief stint as an Innovative Schools Fellow at City Education Partners.

Teresa Silva, Ph.D., has an extensive educational background in the field of Educational Leadership and Administration. Teresa completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration at The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Ph.D. student in the same field at the same institution from 2018 to 2022. In 2011, Teresa earned their Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio as well. Teresa began their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from St. Mary's University in 1998.

Additionally, Teresa holds certifications in Dare to Lead training from Dare to Lead™ Trained, obtained in June 2021. Teresa is also certified to work as a School Principal and School Superintendent by the Texas Education Agency. The specific months of attainment for these certifications were not provided.
