Vonetta Burton

Special Education Teacher at Edgewood ISD

Vonetta Burton has extensive experience in special education, currently serving as a Special Education Teacher at Edgewood ISD since July 2023. Previously, Vonetta worked at NISD from August 2012, initially as a Special Education Teacher and case manager, overseeing the academic and behavioral needs of students with various disabilities. Between August 2007 and June 2012, Vonetta was a Special Education Case Manager at Southwest Preparatory School, managing a caseload of 25 to 30 students. Vonetta's teaching background includes a role as a Teacher for grades 6-12 at John H. Wood Charter School from August 2002 to July 2007, specializing in reading, middle school math, algebra, and geometry. Academically, Vonetta holds a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.
