Joanne Karch

Assistant Director Of Student Support Services at Edina Public Schools

Joanne Karch has accumulated extensive experience in the education field. Joanne began their career as a Special Education Teacher at ISD622 - Richardson Elementary School in 2000. Joanne then moved on to ISD622 - John Glenn Middle School in 2007, where they continued as a Special Education Teacher. In 2011, they transitioned to the role of Special Education Coordinator at ISD622 and held this position until 2015. From 2015 to 2017, Joanne served as a Special Education Teacher at ISD622 while also taking on the role of Assistant Director of Special Services at Hopkins School District 270 from 2017 to 2019. Subsequently, they became the Special Services Transition Program Supervisor at Wayzata Public Schools from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they are the Assistant Director of Student Support Services at Edina Public Schools.

Joanne Karch obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Special Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead from 1997 to 1999. Joanne then enrolled in the University of St. Thomas from 2005 to 2007 and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Special Education. Later, in 2016 to 2017, Joanne attended the University of Minnesota to obtain a Director of Special Education License, specializing in Administration.
