Jie Cao currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at eDrilling since November 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Stavanger from September 2021 to November 2022, focusing on digitization and automation in drilling engineering through deep learning and reinforcement learning. Jie Cao was also an Associate Professor at Xi'an Shiyou University from December 2017 to September 2021, where responsibilities included developing R&D projects and teaching drilling courses while supervising graduate students. Prior to that, Jie Cao worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Memorial University of Newfoundland from January 2012 to September 2017, engaging in research and proposal development as well as advanced well modeling. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Memorial University and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum, Beijing.
