With more than four decades of experience in leadership roles in the private and public sectors, Mr. Blitch has a deep understanding of the intersection between commerce and higher education. His previous roles include a 36-year career at AT&T where he served as Western and Pacific regional vice president of consumer marketing, and more than five years as president and CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. He also served as vice president of advancement for San Francisco State University, where he helped establish the Center for Educational Excellence, and as interim vice president of advancement for California State University, East Bay. Over the course of his career, Mr. Blitch has held leadership positions on more than 50 nonprofit boards, including serving as chair of San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR). Ten of those boards have provided support for public education.
Mr. Blitch holds a BA in language arts from the University of Florida.
