Janelle Nicol Galvez

Janelle "Jin" Nicol Galvez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in media education, consulting, and culinary arts. As a Media Teaching Artist at the Educational Video Center since July 2020, Janelle has mentored students in documentary video production while promoting artistic and critical literacy. Previous roles at the same organization include New Media Arts Media Coach, where Janelle also focused on teaching media applications. Janelle's culinary expertise is evident from ownership of Jin's Journey Inc., which provided cooking classes and meal plans, and as a Culinary Teaching Artist for various programs. Additional experience includes consulting for local food programs at United Way of New York City and serving as a Board Member for the Farmers Market Federation of NY. Janelle holds a BA in TV Production and Women's Studies from Brooklyn College, and certifications as a Yoga Instructor and Holistic Health Coach.
